After all this time I can’t take the time to type an article, finally I was able to make a Visual Novel Review article – Koi ni Kanmi o Soete (Love’s Sweet Garnish)
Even though the three big tests are in sight, I can’t wait to be patient to type my review on this one visual novel.
A sweet character, cute voice, makes me very interested.
Apart from that there are also many positive things from this one visual novel, the story is also not heavy or light, and this visual novel includes a short duration visual novel, and only has two routes for now.
But don’t be afraid, because there is already a PV for this VN sequel that will present the route of other characters that have appeared before in the game.
Well, if that’s the case, just go ahead with this, Visual Novel Review – Koi ni Kanmi o Soete (Love’s Sweet Garnish)
Spring break at the school academy. This is a season filled with hope and doubt when I enter my new life as a student in a new school. I, Ogisawa Asaki, just moved from the old area in my hometown to a new place: the town of Hanao Usaka.
My new residence is my grandmother’s house, which also runs a cafe. However, because of his illness and being required to be hospitalized recently, my grandmother was forced to close the cafe until further notice. When I heard about the situation of Grandma from Chisato Komada (a childhood friend who was like a sister to me), I looked around the quiet cafe and made my heart filled with loneliness. That’s when I immediately thought:
“I want to revive the store and show it to grandma … !!!”
Okay, how to start? Hmm, let’s start from the GUI (Graphic User Interface).
Actually, each VN always has its own different GUI, but since I haven’t discussed this before, I’ll try to discuss it.
Let’s start from the opening, the display itself has cute feelings, fonts, BG, colors. Which really adds to the impression of “Garnish” or decorate.
In addition, the in-game GUI is not too complicated and easy to understand which means the same as a visual novel in general.
Next, let’s discuss the story.
Just like in the synopsis, the story of this visual novel has the main goal, which is to revive the MC’s grandmother’s restaurant. And the interlude is to choose a heroine who is a person who works part time at your place!
In this first series you can only choose two heroines, namely Shionomiya Richer and Niwasaka Rira.
Take it easy, this is a short VN so you can get all CG from the heroines quickly, and also they are both very, very sweet.
The story centers on developing a new cafe built by MC along with Chisato, MC’s childhood friend.
If abbreviated, Koi ni Kanmi o Soete is a visual novel that has a lightweight genre of slice of life with very sweet character art.
But make no mistake, even though this visual slice of life novel still has interesting developments that make it not monotonous.
From CG-CG that is funny, a light comedy that brings smiles, and a very beautiful BGM insert.
Switching briefly about BGM, it’s so good that I sometimes enter the game just to play the playlist in extra mode.
Continuing to the story, kesimpulanyna Koi ni Kanmi o Soete has a good story when viewed from the side of the slice of life and is highly recommended for those of you who want to play for a while and calm down.
The romance story is still on the good side, even though there are only one drawback, which is too short! And the character I want for the route still isn’t there.
Okay, then about the Soundtrack.
The thing that I like most about this visual novel is the music that somehow, how to call it, is very pleasant to hear, soothing, beautiful? I have no idea. But I can give two thumbs up to the music.
Even now I’m actually listening to the BGM mode in the game.
There are a total of 18 music in BGM mode, which includes opening and closing songs.
By the way, the opening song of this game is the song I like the most, besides the sweet lyrics, the animation is very cute even too cute.
Then there is the music titled Hanaousaka, that is the name of the city the MC lives in, and that is my favorite BGM song. The song has a peaceful rural story, the song itself can bring us into a calm atmosphere.
There are many other BGM genres that we can still enjoy and of course everything is very pleasant to hear.
Let’s discuss Art, CG, and character!
Regarding the style in the depiction. Honestly, I just played a visual novel for the first time with a picture like this, yeah, because the developer of the Canvas Garden I just heard.
But even so, I can’t argue if this cute style of drawing isn’t just for fan-service. But this picture has a purpose to harmonize the story, and character traits.
Because there are some characters that aren’t drawn very cute like heroines, although they still have an attraction, which aims to harmonize the image with its nature.
Because just imagine, calm and cool characters have cute styles? It doesn’t work.
Then next to CG, for special heroine CG, they really don’t ask like it seems to be good. If that’s the route Rira or Richer, they have CG that is very good and their CG numbers are the same.
For CG “Other” or other. There is a full screen or there is also only a “center” which is just the middle cut.
For the CG Center, it seems to aim to beautify the parts that are considered suitable for adding CG.
Like the scene on the MC’s point, or the cute parts of the scene. Or even about a new menu from their cafe!
Well for the last …
Maybe there are some of you who are reading this, wondering if there is a part (R-18) in this visual novel? Can I answer yes or no.
The part (R-18) in this visual novel is available in package form or some kind of DLC that is separate from the game. So you could say, in the main game there won’t be a scene like that, BUT in extra after you finish one route, they will open.
Surely that is for those of you who have bought the bonus package.
Okay, let’s discuss a little about the bonus scene.
As usual, for me the R-Scene is only optional, but it also becomes an important element in the visual novel with the romance genre.
Why is that? Yes because for me, the R-Scene is like the main part of the route we take, and it is only for the sign that their relationship is happy and accomplished and as if our mission is over.
I am honest, I even skip that part. Although some I read, according to the character.
But even so, for R-Scene in this visual novel, I had a chance to see some scenes that made me interested, like their talk before and after doing, which felt very, very sweet.
